Microwave photonics is a field that studies the interaction between microwave and optical waves for the generation, distribution, control and processing of microwave signals by means of photonics. There are numerous applications of microwave photonics, such as true time delay beamforming for phased array antennas, fiber-fed wireless communication systems (radio over fiber), radar, sensors, and instrumentation. In this talk, an introduction to microwave photonics will be presented, then different topics of microwave photonics, including photonic true time delay beamforming, photonic generation and processing of microwave signals, radio over fiber, and photonic analog-to-digital conversion, will be discussed. Challenges in implementing microwave photonics system and future research directions will also be discussed.
报告人简介:
姚建平(Jianping Yao)教授,国际知名微波光子学专家,加拿大渥太华大学电气工程与计算机科学学院杰出讲座教授、美国光学学位(OSA)fellow、国际电气与电子工程师学会(IEEE)fellow、加拿大工程院院士。在2007-2010以及2013-2016年间担任渥太华-卡尔顿电气与计算机学院主任。已发表论文560余篇(H-index: 61),其中国际期刊论文330余篇。目前他担任IEEE 渥太华光子学分会主席、IEEE MTT-3微波光子学技术委员会主席。他目前是IEEE Photonics Technology Letters主编、Optics Letters主题编辑、Science Bulletin副主编、Optics Communications顾问编委会成员。他担任了包括2017 IEEE International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics和2019 IEEE International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics在内的多个国际学术会议的主席或共同主席。
