Recently, at the isolation point for covid-19 in Qingtian County, Zhejiang Province, a smart watch developed by Professor Sun Wensheng, a teacher at the School of Communication Engineering, Hangzhou Dianzi University, has taken over the work of detecting the body temperature of isolated personnel. It is reported that this application exploits smart watches as hardware, which work with the software on server platform, so that the body temperature, blood pressure, blood oxygen, positioning and other information monitored by the integrated sensors on the watch can be used to conduct preliminary screening on the isolated personnel at medical isolation points. Compared with other instant snapshot temperature measurement like thermometers and thermal imaging equipment, the system can provide a 24/7 monitoring. The temperature information can be retrieved and intervention can be taken immediately, which means the chance of potential cross-infection of medical staff is greatly reduced.
