1. How to reach HDU campus
From Xiaoshan International Airport (Hangzhou)
Xiaoshan International Airport is located in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, 27 kilometers to the downtown area of the city.
From the airport, one can fly to more than 30 major destinations home and abroad directly, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Xi’an, Hongkong, Macau, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore and Frankfurt.
If you would like to take airplane in Xiaoshan Airport, taxi is the most efficient way.
FROM Pudong International Airport (Shanghai)
Pudong International Airport is located in Pudong New Zone, about 30 kilometers east to the downtown area of Shanghai.

From Shanghai to Hangzhou: 10:30 12:00 13:30 15;30 17:30 19:00
From Hangzhou to Shanghai: 7:00 8:30 10:30 12:30 14:30
It takes about 3.5 hours from Pudong International Airport to Hangzhou Yellow Dragon Sports Center. After that, take B1-shuttle to Gaosha station, HDU is very close to that station.
From Hangzhou Railway Station (Main Station)
Hangzhou is the railway hub in Zhejiang province, which makes it very convenient to travel to and from Hangzhou by train.
After your arrival at the Hangzhou Main Railway Station, you may take K525 bus to Gaosha station, HDU is very close to that station.
2. Getting around the City
BUS
Hangzhou has an extensive network of bus service in the downtown and Xiasha area. Most buses accept one ticket and the price is generally:
RMB 1 or 1.5 yuan for non-air-conditioned buses
RMB 2 yuan for air-conditioned buses (with a “K” before the route number)
RMB 3 to 5yuan for tour buses
Most buses are non-conductor ones and do not provide change, so passengers have to prepare some change before getting on the bus, or you can use the IC card for public transportation.

TAXI
Hangzhou boasts its taxi service because the models and conditions of the cars are the best in the country. The fare is based on the mileage according to the meter. The starting price is 10 RMB yuan for the first 3 KM in the downtown area and 5 RMB yuan for the first 3 KM in Xiasha area, and 2 yuan per Km after that.
NOTE:
WHENEVER YOU TAKE A TAXI, PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO GET A RECEIPT FROM THE CAB DRIVER. There are car numbers on the receipt. Once your belongings are left on the cab, this receipt would help you to get them back.
Xiasha has a very convenient transportation advantage. More than 10 bus routes are put into use from Xiasha to downtown, among which Bus Rapid Transit(BRT) B1 and B4 run every 3 to 5 minutes, and it takes only 30 to 40 minutes to reach the downtown from Xiasha.
The BRT buses run between the Huang Long station and Xiasha starts at 06:00 and ends at 21:00, and between Xiasha and the Huang Long station starts at 06:00 and ends at 22:00. There are two types of B1 route; one is for the whole distance, the other for interval.
The Subway Line No.1 which is under construction now will be put into use in 2012. Then it will only take 20 minutes or so to reach the city center from Xiasha.
And the taxi flag-down fare in Xiasha Higher Education Zone is 6 Yuan for the first three kilometers.
